Kinsa, a startup committed to tracking body temperature using their smart thermometers and their mobile app, has made some of their data public. You can access this data using a dashboard below and see changes in illness across the US. Kinsa has been looking at the atypical levels as a leading indicator to project real COVID cases. On average, Kinsa has observed illness anomalies within states 14 days before states report their first COVID-19 death. Of the 47 states that have experienced COVID-19 deaths, Kinsa’s atypical illness signal recorded illness anomalies at least five days prior to the first fatality in 41 states.
